After a complete rewrite, MOTU released Digital Performer 4.0 in May 2003, which ran exclusively on Mac OS X. Version 3 of Digital Performer was the last to run on Mac OS 9, the Classic Macintosh operating system. Throughout its history, MOTU have gradually developed and refined the application rather than ever 'reinventing' it, and as such it has over time accumulated a vast range of features and working methods. No screen and buttons, no transport, no page of channels. Digital Performer goes back a long way, and has its roots in Performer, one of the very first Mac sequencers. I make it work with really limited features.

Its very hard with out a instruction manual and I don't understand the terms. By 2000, Digital Performer allowed users to record, mix, and master audio for commercial releases. HI, Trying to configurate Studiolive 32 III with Digital Performer 10 in DAW mode. I just want to be able tobrecord from one mic at the moment. Please tell me where I should hook cables up to. I then put my headphones in the phones input and proceeded to turn the 'main mix' fader up aswell as the CTL ROOM PHONES volume knob up. I then pushed down the 'main mix' button which is part of the CTL ROOM SOURCE. I then pushed down the 'L-R' grey button next to the #3 fader. Digital Performer goes back a long way, and has its roots in Performer, one of the very first Mac sequencers.

I have 8 mics but will just learn how to set this one mic up first.

I have taken one mic which I want to use to record my drums. So its obvious that DP notices that the MOTU is connected.

In DP I confiqured the hardware driver as 'MOTU PCI -324'.

I ran the Free Midi program which came with DP (which I was told to do). I installed Digital Performer 2.7 on my Mac. Shure AuxPander 8Г—8 matrix mixer Synths, modules Clavia Nord Modular G2, Nord Rack mk1 (v2 software) Elektron Monomachine SFX-60. I purchased both a Mackie 1604 VLZ-Pro and a Motu 2408. Apple Mac G5/OS X running MOTU Digital Performer. This time I will include pictures so you guys can see for yourself what im dealing with because I know most of you will not have exactly the same setup. Just can't do much of the creative nature of mixing with a mouse click. My mixes are staying more and more in the DP world however the tactile feel and physical nature is important. Lately my projects have become more complex and mix intensive so I am looking into SSL Nucleus and Avid S3. My automation steps have mostly been done via pointer tool and reshape mode with old school hands on desk for mix down. For years I have been mixing my DP projects down via my trusty Soundcraft Ghost/Toft ATB either to DAT, Masterlink or directly into DP. Need advice on mixing control surfaces for Digital Performer.
